Water Treatment Operator (Class IV)

Lead level water purification operations at an assigned water plant for the Sewerage and Water Board. Work includes performing some supervisory and training related work as well as technical tasks in maintaining, adjusting, and monitoring activities such as chemical flows, pump operations, and sample testing. Work objectives are to provide safe drinking water to residents, industry and the general public, and to maintain regulatory compliance with EPA regulatory standards concerning drinking water standards; and related work as directed. 1. High school diploma or GED.* 2. Current Class IV Water treatment License issued by the Louisianan Department of Health and Hospitals.* Note: Some positions may require a current Louisiana Commercial Driver's License. * Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education and license claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.
